The Green Mile is a serialized novel by Stephen King, originally published in six parts in 1996. The story is set in a Southern U.S. prison in the 1930s and follows the experiences of death row supervisor Paul Edgecombe as he encounters John Coffey, a man who possesses mysterious powers. The book explores themes of morality, justice, and the human condition. It was also adapted into a successful film in 1999, starring Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke Duncan.
